Daelin: Greetings once again! Originally Alice was going to bring you all up to speed on the happenings of the Proudmoore home, but with schoolwork and college preperations, she doesn’t have the time. Being her father and wanting only the best, I’ve decided to take her place. Let’s get started…
First of all, Jania returned home. I’m extremely happy about that. I had originally assumed she’d run off to the city, but instead she appeared on our doorstep! It seems college has tamed her rebellious side some, as the piercings are gone (finally!) and she looks like a proper adult woman. I’m very proud. She even announced her new life’s ambition; to become mayor of Proudmoore Valley!

She is still Jania, though. She loves going downtown and hanging out at clubs. In fact, rumor has it she met a young man that caught her attention quite a bit. As her father, I worry, but I know that she’s an intelligent girl and won’t do anything stupid. I hope.

My poor Anna’s luck with her job ran out entirely. She was fired. To say she was heartbroken would be an understatement. In an effort to ease her pain, I told her that she shouldn’t worry about getting another job. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. Now she had all the time in the world to gain all the knowledge she could ever desire! It seemed to cheer her up a bit. The income flowing in will be lessened, but at the rate Jania is climbing the political ladder, there isn’t much to worry about.

My lovely Alice is also doing quite well. She’s very quiet and studious and has managed to get straight A’s as well as several grants for college. While I’m happy that her education is secured, I worry about her leaving for college. It is a father’s duty to worry for his daughter. Alice is sweet, but she’s also very… well, she’s naive. I fear the world will ravage her and leave her jaded. I can only hope going with the Derico Twins will soften the blow. Maybe Davina can nudge her slowly out of her naive shell.

It seems both my daughters wish to cause me a heart-attack! Jania has been seeing that man more and more now. She works all day and then comes home only to leave again for the city. Normally I’d assume this meant they were getting serious, but I’m uncertain. Jania isn’t the type to ‘get serious’. She’s very impulsive and she always has been. I worry she’s getting herself into a situation she won’t like further down the line.

Alice isn’t reacting well to the stress of graduating and packing for college. She often throws random tantrums and fights with her mother often. She’s even started lashing out at me. I know that she doesn’t mean it, but it still hurts. The only person she isn’t mean with in the house is Jania.
I’m hoping Jania can help her through the process. Hopefully Alice will calm down once she realizes that she won’t be leaving us forever. Maybe college wasn’t such a good idea after all…

Jania holds parties often at our house, both night and day. The cops are frequent visitors, requesting that we keep the noise down. Jania has a lot of friends and networking is very important to her job. It isn’t unusual for me to come home and find 15 strangers roaming around my house. While its unnerving, I have to be supportive. It can’t last forever.
On the other hand, it allows Alice to speak with people she normally wouldn’t. Sure, they’re all older, but she can gain knowledge about life and its hardships from them. Hopefully it sticks.

Of course, I should have known better. Jania is not a serious person. While her goal to become Mayor may seem serious, it really isn’t. To her, it is less about the job and the status and more about ‘overcoming the odds’. She came from a bad situation and becoming mayor would prove that she was better than it. Plus, there’d be parties. But that was a brief aside.
Now she’s brought that younger man into our home. While I don’t make it a practice to spy on my daughters, I did see her sneak off to her room with him. Hopefully this is the last time and the two will part ways. He’s still in college! I honestly don’t know what she’s thinking.

Eventually the day came for Alice to leave. She was sad, I was sad, and while she didn’t show it, Anna was sad, as well. She hid away in her study for the rest of the day. Jania was enthusiastic. I know she was doing it in an effort to cheer Alice up, but I don’t think it worked. I really hope she’ll be all right. I called Lenny after she left and he said that Davina and Sade were on their way to college, as well. We lamented over the passing of years for a bit before hanging up.
Oh how time does fly.

With her little sister off at college, Jania has lifted off her heavy burden of being a good older sister. I’ve heard several rumors of her and that man from the city using changing rooms for something other than the intended purpose. Sigh. I hope she knows what she’s doing! Sometimes she acts so much like her mother.

At least this man appears to be a little more level-headed than my daughter. They share similar ambitions, but he’s fallen hard for her, I believe. This was made especially clear when Jania returned home one day with a large diamond on her finger.
I was happy. Perhaps I had been too quick to judge.

Eventually he moved in. His name is Blazej and he seems to be a good sort of person. Of couse Anna hasn’t exactly warmed up to him, but it’ll happen eventually, I hope. He decided a new look was in order and while it showed how he was a little younger than Jania, it didn’t really matter. He was in love with my daughter and that was enough.
I was a little worried about how they never seemed to discuss a wedding, though. They seemed content to just stay engaged. I kept my worries silent, however, as I didn’t want to stir up any unnecessary trouble. Jania was happy.

Of course, Anna wasn’t the type to let her concerns go unheard. She confronted Jania one morning about her affair with Sterling (the college kid) with Blazej sitting right there! I nearly dropped one of the plates in my surprise. Blazej took it in stride, though. I suppose Jania had told him. They were both rather easy-going.
Anna wasn’t happy about this, but her voice fell silent. I knew that was a bad sign. I love my wife, but she has quite the mean streak and she and Jania have never gotten along. I fear what she might be plotting. I will have to talk to her. I cannot have her intentionally hurting my daughter, wife or not.

I’m not sure how threatening I’ll be, what with me being an old man now and all… but I’ll do my best. Here’s hoping old age brings me happiness and grandbabies!
