102 Derico Drive: Cycle Four [Proudmoore Valley, Derico Family] — Mao @ 5:39 pm

Home of Brice Derico & Julie (Tsang) Derico

Brice: Hey hey, Brice Derico here. Yeah, I’m all grown up now. All out on my own and stuff. I’ve even got myself a wife. Of course, you heard about that, right? The wedding from Hell. Julie is still pretty torn up about it. I mean, I should be too… but I’m not. That’s just family, you know? Good with the bad and all that.

I just wish that they weren’t so mean with Julie. I just don’t get it. They don’t have any reason to not like her! Well, they didn’t until she and Sade got into that knock-down-drag-out fight. I hope those two can patch things up. I can’t be choosin’ between family and love. It just ain’t right.

Julie isn’t very happy with our current living situation. It was pretty rough the first week. Since I wasn’t in a good way with my parents after the wedding, I refused their money. All we had was each other’s individual savings… which turned out to be pretty lame. I wish I had thought things over more clearly when I was a kid. Eh, but what can you do?

It doesn’t bother me any. I’m an artist, after all. We thrive on this poverty stuff! Julie just glares at me whenever I say that. Man… what part of ’starving’ artist didn’t she get? Women.

Unfortunately, due to our squalor surroundings and her demanding work schedule, Julie got the flu. It was a mess. She was coughing all over the place and I was acting like I was in a mine field. I can’t afford to get sick, too! Luckily it wasn’t around long. She was feelin’ better in a few days. What a relief. We really need her income right now.

She’s going out for sports. She wants to be legendary. Eh, a girl… in sports… as a legend? I dunno, sounds iffy to me, but who am I to crush a dream?

Nah, I’d rather make’em! Julie has a thing for PDA. Not quite sure what it is, but anytime she says she wants to go downtown, its usually only for one thing. Not that I mind, yanno… I mean… I’m a guy and all. Plus, I’m hoping that with all this newly wedded bliss we’ve been having that she’ll end up pregnant. No luck so far!

I mean, I know that’s sneaky… but I want a family. I want a kid to carry on my name. Its always been a big thing with my family. Guess that’s why dad is all uptight. He doesn’t think Julie is suitable to carry on the Derico line. That’s such a bunch of… well, yanno. I mean… look at Marisa. Never has there been such a hag as her. She isn’t suited for carrying on the line, yet she popped out twins.

I know why she did, too. Its her ticket to our goods. We ain’t gettin’ squat when dad goes–not that I want’em to, mind you. Nah, that woman is gonna grab it all for herself. Dad’s blind. I guess we both think the other is blind. Which just goes to show how much alike we are. Pretty funny, eh?

I’m starting to really worry about Julie. She’s got the flu again. She’s taking this dream way too seriously. She’s been promoted almost every day she comes home. I mean, that’s great and all… but she’s really wearin’ herself down. I catch her looking out the window a lot. What’s she looking for? I don’t think I wanna know the answer to that.

It isn’t all work, though. Sometimes she has this girl over. She’s dressed real nice, rings, and everything. Guess they’ve been friends for awhile. That’s cool. Every girl needs one of those friends of the girl-like persuasion. She seems to be really loaded, too. That’s fine… I’m kinda glad we gotta struggle a little. Builds character, yanno? I struggled as a kid and look at me now. Tough as nails! Yeah, things’ll be fine.

Now if only Sade would stop kicking over our trashcan. I love my little sis, but its starting to get really annoying.
