Aridestra Greek House: Cycle Nine - Part 1 [Proudmoore Family, Derico Family, University, Aridestra Greek House] — Mao @ 4:22 pm

Residents: Elle Derico, Rex Derico, Jenna Jeffress (Proudmoore)

Elle: Well, hi there! Elle Derico here… yeah, one of the many children of Damian and Alice Derico. Hey, at least they don’t have as many as my grandpa and grandma did, yikes! Though I am glad to be out of there once and for all. Between Jamie’s constant need of attention, Randy bawling, and Diana’s endless rambling about which haircare product she was switching to… I was about to go crazy. So now I’m here at college with my cousin Rex and Jenna Jeffress… who both happen to be very good friends of Diana’s… great.

If I had known that by accepting the role as ‘leader’ of the Greek House for the next four years would equal more drama than a morning of soap opera reruns, I would’ve transferred. I’m sure you’ve heard about Rex and Jenna. If you haven’t… where have you been? Practically everyone knows Jenna is tripping over herself to try and get Rex’s attention.

Unfortunately for her, his head is up in the clouds… literally. All he does is read, go to class, and then stargaze the night away. I didn’t even know what his voice sounded like until we’d been here a month!

Jenna is a Proudmoore, though… and she’s not easily discouraged. I have to give her credit, she got pretty creative. None of it worked, though. Rex was just… I don’t know. I was starting to think he a was little… ‘funny’… you know? I mean, all the guys on campus are in a clamor for Jenna’s attentions… and here he gets them all, and all he can do is stick his nose in a book.

Speaking of which, I was cleaning… and I accidentally stumbled onto his little collection. All the books were about vampires. What is he doing with those? Sure, his mom and dad were vamps… but what’s that got to with him?

Then again, it explains why he keeps sneaking off to this weirdo club lately. I guess its where Sade met Rex’s father. One time I followed him. Everything was pretty normal, until this odd figure approached him. I couldn’t really hear what the man said, but judging by his look… it wasn’t good. I hope I’m wrong in thinking that Rex is looking for his father. Word on the grapevine is that Rex’s father is reponsible for Sade’s missing tombstone.

Of course, with all this drama, mystery, and whatnot going on… nothing was getting done! I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to fix up the broken down trash compactor. Before you could say ‘wow, this is a bad idea’ I was lit up like a Christmas tree! Jenna and Rex still won’t let me near any of the appliances. Yeah, right, like I want to try and fix them now. Forget that! That is definitely not the kind of ’shock’ I enjoy.

That wasn’t the only shock I got, though. I was really shocked when I was innocently coming back from class and I caught Jenna jumping poor Rex. He’s infamous for sleeping past noon and I’m guessing Jenna, frustrated with her lack of progress, was getting desperate. So she waited for him and jumped him while he was still half-asleep. Quite the little sneak, I must say. Her goal of garnering her first kiss from Rex? Achieved.

Needless to say, my cousin was not happy. There’s something I’ve learned about Rex since living with him for a year now… and that’s never, ever back him into a corner. His normally quiet voice and demeanor all but shattered as he screamed at Jenna, berating her in a wave of angry insults. She took it all in stride, not backing down. She was just not going to give up. I was pretty surprised… if he had snapped at anyone else, they’d be in tears right now.

Despite this, things switched completely around. Rex was mad at Jenna, and Jenna didn’t care. She ignored him now, instead focusing on her male callers. It was bizarre to watch. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone or something. I could seriously write a bestselling novel on the interactions between these two. So weird!

I learned something else about Rex during this little display… he’s a very, very jealous person. Which makes absolutely no sense, because he didn’t want anything to do with Jenna before! I guess that was the point of Jenna’s little change in attitude, and it worked like a charm.

Of course, I had to take a break from observing their little romantic train wreck, and work on my own! I’m not happy to admit it, but by now, I was getting desperate. I’d been here three years, two of which were with Rex and Jenna. Not once did I have a date! I guess I just don’t have very good luck with men. They either come on too strong or they’re just… not my type. At all.

So I jumped at the chance when a fellow Society member showed interest in me. I would be a Senior soon, and I’d never been kissed! At least now I could say I’d at least tested the waters a bit.

It didn’t last, though. I never expected it to. A couple days later, I walked in on him hitting on Jenna. She was not a willing participant, though this only served to anger Rex further. With two angry Derico’s under one roof, its normally a good idea to exit stage left, and fast. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone run as fast as he did that night.

Things calmed down a bit, but Rex was still grumbling around the house. Jenna went back to turning the guys away, but it didn’t help. Now Rex wasn’t just quiet, he was quiet and brooding. It was pretty annoying, because in turn, Jenna was moping. I was surrounded by mopey smart people. Talk about lame. So I decided to have a few words with my… eccentric cousin.

It was a simple conversation of me telling him to just chill and let things come as they may. It was obvious he liked Jenna, so what was the big deal in acting on it? This is college! Its all about experimentation and all that. Just because you date someone in college doesn’t mean you’re going to marry them later!

That last statement probably makes me the absolute worst Family sim ever. Oh well…

It worked. Now I’m about half-sick from watching them. I just can’t win for losing! At least I’ll be out of here in less than a year. That’s right, I’m a Senior! I still haven’t met Mr. Right… but he’s gotta be out there somewhere. Maybe this’ll be my year. I really hope so… I’m exhausted from dealing with Rex and Jenna. Diana will be here soon, she can deal with it! They’re her friends, anyway… and she’s the one who introduced them. Serves her right, pfft.

Everyone got into Secret Society, but I’m sick of the redundant photos. I’m also really sick of University and I’m just barely halfway through for this generation. Arrrghhh!!

Jenna acts more like a Popularity sim than a Family sim. Which isn’t surprising, since nearly every single sim is a Popularity sim… sigh. I used to hate Knowledge sims, but now I miss them! Thank goodness for Rex. I have mighty big plans for him.
