Residents: Brice Derico, Vincent Derico, Sadie Howe

Sadie: Hi there, Sadie Howe here. If you don’t know, I’m engaged to Vincent Derico! We’ve been together since we were just kids. Now there’s a relationship. We even lasted through college! I couldn’t be happier to be with him now, living in the house he grew up in. His father, Brice, stays with us. He’s a nice old fellow, though… a little odd. That’s the art types for you, though I can’t say much. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at photography.

Kitty and Vincent are still close, of course. She doesn’t live with us… she’s staying with her aunt Serena. The Derico family is pretty large. It was really surprising to hear about how many relatives Vincent has! I guess his grandfather had like, six kids… and almost all those kids had kids of their own. Wow! That’s quite a ‘brood’. I don’t mind though. I love family… its very important to me. Being surrounded by a big family makes me feel happy.
I just wish Kitty could feel the same thing. We’ve been friends since college and I worry about her. She’s chasing after a married man… and it’ll only end in pain, for both sides! I don’t agree with it at all. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about Vincent straying… he’s just not the type. He’s too lazy to try and manage an affair… haha.

There’s something weird about this house, though. Vincent’s dad and my soon-to-be father-in-law is always talking about seeing his late wife’s ghost. I guess she died while giving birth to the twins, Vincent and Kitty. It explains while Vincent is always so hesitant to discuss children. He doesn’t want me to end up like his mother. That’s cute, but I want a family of my own someday!
I’m a little creeped out by the prospect of seeing a ghost, though. I mean… they’re not supposed to exist, right? So how is Brice seeing them? Maybe he’s just getting senile… he is kind of old, after all.

Of course, being together for as long as we’ve been… it was only a matter of time before I ended up pregnant. It started with me feeling terribly sick in the mornings. I finally went to a doctor where he told me the great news! I was a little nervous about telling Vincent… but he took it surprisingly well. Maybe he was starting to realize that what happened to his mother is very rare. Besides, I’m a strong girl, I can handle it!
Since I was pregnant, we definitely needed to push the wedding date up.

It may not have been the huge wedding I had always dreamed of, but it was still great. I guess smaller weddings are more personal, and in that way, I’m glad that things happened the way they did. It was a lovely outdoor ceremony, with all our friends and family in attendance! I never really bought the hype about the wedding day being one of the best moments of your life, but now I’m a believer. I’m still walking on cloud nine!

Too bad it wasn’t all happy times. Vincent hadn’t seen Louis since his wedding, so they had a lot of catching up to do. Vincent made it a point to talk to his best friend about his affair with Kitty. Of course, Vincent was on the fence… as we’re talking about a love triangle between his best friend, his twin, and his aunt. Now that’s what I call dysfunctional! Goodness. It makes me dizzy just thinking about it.
Louis had mentioned that he wasn’t seeing Kitty anymore. That this was the first time he’d seen her since she and Vincent had graduated. I guess this was enough for my new husband, as he let it go. Too bad he didn’t see what I saw. Kitty just wasn’t giving up… she cornered Louis later on, and I accidentally witnessed them continuing their sordid little affair… sigh. I just can’t believe he’d do something like this!

Thankfully, that wasn’t on my mind for long. I had a baby to worry about! I was so happy when I started showing. It was sinking in that there was a little life growing inside me. I couldn’t have been happier. Vincent and Brice were very supportive, as well. They catered to me constantly. I must say, I grew a bit spoiled on all the attention they gave me. I was almost saddened when my water broke one day and off to the hospital we went.

A few days later, I returned home with our new son, Mike Derico. He was spoiled even more than I had been, with all three of us fussing over him constantly! By this time, Brice had retired… so we were home all the time with him. Vincent was near the top of his career… he was really hoping to become a Hall of Famer at any moment. Still, as busy with work as he was, he always made time for his family.

Little Mike is growing up so fast. One minute, he was completely dependent on us; the next, he’s toddling around causing trouble like no one’s business! I love him, though… he looks so much like Vincent. He even has the ‘Derico eyes’. He acts a lot like Vincent, too… so terribly mischevious!

Not long after Mike’s third birthday, I found out I was pregnant again. Of course, I’m extremely happy! Vincent is still being supportive, and Brice is just happy to be surrounded by a family again. I can’t wait to have another baby in the house.
Though, I am a little worried. I’ve started seeing what I think is Julie’s ghost. If you remember, she’s Vincent’s late mother. I haven’t told him or Brice yet. I’m not sure if I want to… maybe its just my hormones.
